FAQ

Why should I remove metadata from images?

Removing metadata protects your privacy by eliminating location data, camera information, and timestamps. When sharing photos online, metadata can reveal where you were, what device you used, and when photos were taken. Removing metadata ensures this sensitive information is not included with your shared images.

Will removing metadata affect image quality?

No, removing metadata only removes embedded information, not the actual image pixels. The visual quality, colors, and dimensions remain exactly the same. The file size may change slightly because metadata data is removed, but the image itself looks identical.

What information gets removed?

All EXIF data is removed including GPS coordinates, camera make and model, exposure settings, ISO, focal length, timestamps, software information, and any other embedded metadata. Only the visual image data is preserved.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

No, all processing happens entirely in your browser. Your image file is read and processed locally using JavaScript, and the cleaned image is generated without any network upload. Your images never leave your device, ensuring complete privacy.

Can I remove metadata from multiple images at once?

Currently, this tool processes one image at a time. For batch processing, you can process images one by one. The tool is designed for single-image processing to ensure quality and privacy for each image.
