FAQ

Why are my side buttons not working?

Side buttons (back/forward buttons) may not be detected in all browsers. Chrome and Edge have the best support for additional mouse buttons. Some mice also require driver software to enable side buttons. Try pressing the back and forward buttons to see if they register in the visualization.

How accurate is the DPI measurement?

The DPI measurement is an estimate based on screen resolution and cursor movement. It provides a good approximation but may not be exact due to variations in screen DPI reporting and mouse acceleration settings. For most accurate results, disable mouse acceleration in your operating system settings before testing.

What is a good click response time?

Average human click response time is around 200-300 milliseconds. Gamers typically achieve 150-200ms with practice. Response times under 150ms are excellent. The test measures the time from when a target appears to when you click it, including both your reaction time and mouse responsiveness.

Why is my mouse showing multiple clicks when I click once?

This could indicate a hardware problem called "double-clicking" or "bounce," where a single click registers as multiple clicks. This is often caused by worn-out micro-switches inside the mouse. The click counter will show this issue clearly, and you may need to clean or replace your mouse.

What does the heatmap view show?

The heatmap view displays which buttons you use most frequently during your testing session. Colors range from blue (less used) to red (most used). This helps identify your primary mouse buttons and usage patterns. The visualization updates in real-time as you use different buttons.

Can I use this to test gaming mice?

Yes! This tool works perfectly for testing gaming mice. Use the response time test to measure your reaction speed, the DPI test to verify sensitivity settings, and the click counter to test rapid clicking (CPS - clicks per second). The tool tracks all button presses including programmable side buttons on gaming mice.
